Make Decisions on who You are Becoming

I was recently listening to someone near and dear to me talk about her plans for the future. As I was listening to her talk, I heard the Holy Spirit say, “Don’t make decisions on who you were and what you know, make them for who you are becoming”. This really hit me as it brought me back to a time in my life where I spent more time looking in the rear view mirror rather than at what’s ahead. Many years ago when I was walking through a very difficult time in my life, my daughter would say, “don’t look back”. She would remind me of the story of Lot’s wife turning into a pillar of salt because she looked back when God specifically said, not to look back.

Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed. “In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife. - Luke 17:30-32 NKJV

This has really been ministering to me in this season and I want to encourage you on today, to make room for God to move and shift your mindsets. He is taking you to a new place, a place of hope, peace, joy and of dreaming big again. It’s nothing new that the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy. So don’t give him a foothold by letting the disappointments and pain from your past seasons steal your future.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. - John 10:10 NKJV

Today is a new day and a season to go deeper and higher than ever before. He is calling us out of the boat to walk on the water. Stir up your faith, take His hand and trust God. We are called to be set apart, and to be the light on a hill. Don’t allow your need to control, fear, or the uncertainty of what is ahead, hold you back from the desires of your heart. God has great plans for each and every one of you. Will you allow Him to resurrect those dreams that your grown self has tried to bury under practicality and worldly wisdom. It’s never too late for a fresh start. It is time for the new you to emerge and reflect the radiance and beauty that can only come from our one true God.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. - 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NKJV
