Breakaway and Pray

This is a time more than ever that we are to stand up to the spirits of fear, division and delay. The Lord says, “BREAKAWAY, PRAY and I will make a WAY!!”

In the last months of 2020, I heard the word BREAKAWAY. I pressed in and prayed into what the Lord wanted to say to His Bride. I was brought to the example of Jesus and how he would go away to pray. Of significance in Matthew, chapter 26 within the verses 36 through 46, Jesus prayed three times in the Garden of Gethsemane before He was betrayed and knew that He would be drinking from the cup of suffering.

There are two key instructions demonstrated here by Jesus. That we are to BREAKAWAY and PRAY in all circumstances, but especially when we are faced with the trials and tribulations that come with being part of God’s army in the times we are currently in, with so much hanging in the balance.

Additionally, the Lord brought me to chapter 6 of the book of Matthew, where Jesus speaks of the model prayer, which is otherwise referred to as the Lord’s Prayer. Prior to instructing us what to pray, He instructs is how to pray in verse 6, “But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

The timing of when the Lord wanted me to release this word was confirmed on Christmas Eve, when I went to visit a friend and drop off a gift and found that she lived on Breakaway Drive. According to Oxford Dictionary, the definition of the word BREAKAWAY is: a) A divergent or radical change from something established or long standing. b) A secession of a number of people from an organization, typically following conflict or disagreement and resulting in the establishment of a new organization.

I’ve been sensing that many of us have been in transition and have felt a great tug on our hearts to take great leaps of faith and step out. There are promises that God has put in our hearts that He is fulfilling in this new year. I heard the word EXPANSION. This will be a year where many will see this in all areas of their lives. I see promotions, financial increase, changes in jobs, relocations, new relationships, Kingdom alignments and so much more.

“Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited.” - Isaiah 54:2-3 NKJV

We are in a time where the greater the RISK and LEAP of faith, will result in a greater reward. The Lord says, “Dare to believe Me for bigger and better than you ever imagined.” I then heard the words, “DO NOT DISMAY and NO MORE DELAY. “ The definition of the word dismay according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary is, to cause to lose courage or resolution (as because of alarm or fear).

“So David inquired of the Lord, saying, ‘Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?’ And He answered him, ‘Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.’” - 1 Samuel 30:8 NKJV

Through the pressing, stretching and shaking, Holy Spirit has prepared many to be His Glory carriers. He is increasing the anointing and with that comes greater responsibility. He is calling us higher and has been building us up to have the strength and endurance to walk out true obedience, to deliver others, to count the cost and still say yes to the high calling. He is sharpening our discernment, so we can decipher the difference between the spirit of heaviness versus His weighty glory. With the greater glory and opportunities, there is greater responsibility. This is your year to fight back, to expand and take ground, to do great exploits and recover all for the Kingdom of God is at hand!
