Spoonful of Honey
9/13/2021
While getting into bed one evening, my throat was quite sore and I was coughing and struggling to get to sleep. My daughter was still up in the living room. I called to her and asked her to bring me a spoon of honey, just like I would do for her when she was feeling a sore throat coming on.
As requested, she came into the room and brought me a spoon full of honey. My room was quite dark, so I couldn’t see clearly as I took the spoon and swallowed the honey. As my mouth was so filled with honey and sweetness, I could almost not swallow it.
I then realized that she didn’t use a teaspoon like I normally did, but she used a tablespoon. I laughed at the childlike innocence of my daughter believing a bigger spoon was necessary.
The next day the Lord had really been speaking to me about this and brought me to His word in Ephesians 3:20, which says “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”.
In this situation I asked for a small spoon of honey, but my daughter believed a bigger portion was necessary. The Lord is speaking through this situation saying to his children, “dream bigger, believe for bigger. I am God almighty and nothing is too hard for Me. Taste and see that I am good. My blessings are above and beyond all you can imagine.” Just like I needed some honey to comfort my throat, Father God sent us a comforter. The Holy Spirit who is with us and comforts us.
I prophesy that you will taste and see God’s goodness in this season and that as you dream bigger and believe for bigger, the Lord will go before you preparing the way for these greater things. The setback is a setup for His presence to be revealed and for His glory to shine upon you.
