Shift Your Perspective

This word is for someone who really needs to hear this today! I was believing for an increase in my pay at my job and unfortunately, it is just not there right now. I was really believing the Lord would provide for us to go from renting to owning. However, He quickly shifted my perspective in what I heard. He said “rather than needing more, try spending less”. I sense this is a key many of us need to hear right now. We must steward what we have been given wisely to move into the Kingdom wealth we are believing Him for.

A few months ago in prayer and my time with the Lord, I asked for guidance and help over recent circumstances and situations with work and finances. I found myself feeling frustrated and discouraged, as it felt like I was carrying much more responsibility than before but in a season lack, overwhelmed with no hope in sight. This didn’t make sense, as I know who I am in Christ and that my inheritance is in Him. In asking the Lord about this, I felt a shift in my heart posture as I was given the scripture in Deuteronomy 8:18. I read the entire chapter 8 titled, “Remember the Lord Your God”. There it was right there. We are called to do everything we do unto the Lord, so why was I so focused on man. Putting my hope and faith in my workplace, leadership and a paycheck. I was lead to repentance after reading verse 3, which says “So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with Manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord.” The Lord is so faithful and good that as soon as we turn to Him and ask for help, He will give us revelation and understanding to bring our focus right back to Him, our Rock and Foundation. We are nothing without him and our jobs, or titles, etc. They are nothing without Him. Merely castles in the sand. Thank you Lord that you are my provider and that all my needs are met by You and You alone. Forgive me Lord for allowing myself to lose focus of You and Your plans for my life, which are to bring me into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey, a land which I will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing. Lord thank you for being an ever present help in trouble and for shifting my heart and mind to trust only in You. Thank you for turning things around and bringing joy back into my heart. Thank you that Your Promises are Yes and Amen!
