Come up Higher
Holy Spirit has been speaking to me and downloading so much insight and revelation as to what He wants to say to His beloved bride in this season. I sense that as He calls us in to a greater level of His glory and greater intimacy in this new year and decade ahead, he wants to bring awareness and encourage His sons and daughters to spend some extra time doing a spiritual health check up with Him.
Regular check-ups with God are crucial in this day and age, where most of us have busy schedules and many demands for our time and attention. We often feel obligated and pressured to say yes to more than we can reasonably do. God desires to be invited into every detail of our lives. He’s outside of time and knows the details beyond what we can see. He truly has our best in mind at all times. He’s a good Father.
I encourage you to seek the Lord and ponder these questions with Him. “Am I rightly aligned; am I partnering with the right people; am I in community; am I honoring myself and others; am I in any unhealthy relationships that are holding me back or hindering me; am I spending my time wisely; am I watching things on TV and/or being entertained by things that promote fleshly desires; am I eating healthy and well; do I need to make some changes with my health; am I stewarding my finances well? These are just some things I feel God wants to share His heart with you on.
As the Lord continued to speak to me on this subject, He reminded me of a revelatory dream I received a while back. I had been praying and pressing in for the relevance and intention of this dream. It is only until now, that I have the full understanding.
DETHRONING THE FLESH
I was having lunch at a fast food restaurant nearby, while reading and studying. I had a binder, book, notepad and pens sitting on the table in front of me. I got up to use the restroom and headed down the hall. As I entered through the doorway to the restroom, the scene changed to what appeared to be a public restroom like they have near the beaches and bays here in Southern California. The floor was covered in dirt and mud.
As I entered further into the restroom, it seemed to be getting filthier with mud, muck and little frogs. I then looked down and realized I didn’t have any shoes on. As I turned to go and get my shoes, I see standing in front of me, three large flesh-colored frogs. These frogs were wearing what appeared to be crowns on their heads. These frogs were standing in the doorway trying to block me from leaving the restroom. I tried stepping around the frogs, but slipped and fell. As I fell, I landed on a large crocodile that was sleeping in the mud and muck. It moved a bit as I landed on it, but then fell back asleep and I was able to slip away, without being attacked. I ran out of there to get away from the filth and to wash off my feet. I ran into someone I knew named James, as I headed back into the restaurant dining area. I shared with him what happened in the bathroom. He looked at me like I had lost my mind and went into the restroom to see for himself. However, he didn’t see the same mud and muck, or the frogs and crocodile.
As I prayed into this dream and what Holy Spirit was revealing, I was brought to Chapter 2 of 1 John, where we are told - do not love the world. In verses 15-16 it says “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.” I believe what Holy Spirit is revealing through this dream that the frogs are unclean spirits representing the things of the flesh and of the world. The mud represents sin, backsliding and the flesh. The muck represents filth of all kinds that defile us, including lust and perversion. The shoes, or lack thereof, represents being unprepared. In the book of Exodus, frogs were sent by God as the second plague as a punishment to Egypt as Pharaoh being a hard-hearted task master King, refused to let God’s people go.
The crocodile in this dream represents the sin of pride and the spirit of pride. The fact that it was sleeping signifies a characteristic of this spirit, as it usually hides deep in our hearts underneath it’s cohorts and tries to stay undetected. The fast food restaurant in this dream, which represents an unhealthy appetite, overindulging and feeding the flesh.
The scene starts off with me studying in the restaurant with study materials, which signifies that God is teaching us something and to take notes. The three large frogs which are flesh colored and wearing crowns, He’s revealing our flesh nature that we battle, giving new meaning and understanding to the verse “die to self daily”. The “flesh” color of the frogs reflects our flesh, while the “crowns” they are wearing, indicate they have been given permission to rule and reign in our lives. The way that they were guarding the door, signifies these frogs are territorial and have made themselves at home. Not wearing shoes, speaks of not wearing our armor of God, which includes having our feet shod with the preparation of Peace. The slipping in the mud represents us losing our footing in our walk with Christ in slippery situations. Giving in to the things of flesh, which in turn try to rule over our us. Falling on top the crocodile signifies that going “low” in humility is the only way we can resist the tactics of this spirit of pride. What was lurking and hiding was exposed as I went low. Notice how it just shrugged at me falling on top of it and went right back to sleep and I slipped away untouched. The man whom I ran into on the way out the restroom was unable to see what I was seeing, because his eyes were not open to the things of the Spirit. His name was James which brings us to the Word of God that speaks through the Epistle of James providing a foundation of wisdom and Godly character.
COME UP HIGHER
Revelations 4:1, says “After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this.”
Father God is inviting you to come up higher to His Throne Room. He has so much He wants to share with His beloved sons and daughters and wants nothing more than relationship and intimacy with us all. The things of the flesh weigh us down and can hinder us from receiving all God has for us and from fulfilling our God given destiny. The Bible says in James 1:7-8, “For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
God is always speaking and can use any situation or circumstance, whether good or bad, to speak to us. He shines His light in the dark places and reveals what’s lurking underneath. The depths and layers of our being are our Creator’s business. He’s got this and wants you to allow Him into every area of your life. He wants full access to all of us, even those dark places, where your soul may be trying to hide. King David says in Psalm 119:105, “Your Word is a light to my feet and a lamp to my path.”
I prophesy the Lord is taking you higher in 2020. Blue prints and strategies from Heaven are being released for this new decade ahead. He’s taking you to higher levels, greater access and realms, bringing you into greater influence and increase in all areas. As you partner with Him and trust Him to have access and reign in every area of your lives, He will do the unthinkable in and through you. The prodigals will come home, people will be set free, lives will be changed, dead bones will come to life. You will witness greater miracles than you can ever imagine. “Come up higher” says God. “Take my hand and I will show you the way”.
